WATCH CURLIN IN THE JOCKEY CLUB GOLD CUP

Belmont Park
Saturday, September 27

The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA), in conjunction with the New York Racing Association (NYRA), announced Wednesday that this Saturday's Grade I, $750,000 Jockey Club Gold Cup from Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y., will be televised live on ESPNEWS.
The Jockey Club Gold Cup features the race's defending champion, 2007 Horse of the Year Curlin. With a victory in the Gold Cup, Curlin would earn a winner's share of $450,000 and vault past Cigar as the leading North American-based earner in Thoroughbred racing history. Cigar retired in 1996 with a lifetime bankroll of $9,999,815. Curlin's career earnings currently stand at $9,796,800. Also, a win in this race would secure a post position in the Breeders' Cup Classic for Curlin with the "Win and You're In" promotion for the Breeders' Cup World Championships in Arcadia, California on Saturday, October 25.

The Jockey Club Gold Cup—which can also be seen live on TVG and HRTV—is for three-year-olds and up and is contested at 1 1/4 miles on Belmont's main, dirt track. It will be the 10th race on an 11-race card, with a scheduled post time of 5:52 p.m. ET.

Also be sure to play the $500,000 Guaranteed All-Grade I Pick Four which is comprised of the Flower Bowl, the Vosburgh, the Joe Hirsch Turf Classic, and the Jockey Club Gold Cup. Visit nyra.com for more information.
