ZENYATTA HIGHLIGHTS HOLLYWOOD WEEKEND

Unbeaten champion Zenyatta will make her much anticipated 2009 debut when facing eight others in the $150,000 Milady H. (G2) at Hollywood Park on Saturday. The John Shirreffs charge was last seen drubbing her competition in the Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic (G1) and is seemingly ready for a big showing, if her six-furlong bullet last out is any indication. Mike Smith will ride the superb daughter of Street Cry. The biggest upset chance might come from Shirreffs' own shedrow in the form of the peaking Life is Sweet. Garrett Gomez will be up.

Sunday plays host to the $100,000 Lazaro S. Barrera S. (G3) for three-year-old sprinters, while the Memorial Day feature is the $250,000 Shoemaker Mile S. (G1), which is likely the next spot picked out for the mega-talented Ventura from the barn of Bobby Frankel.

ARLINGTON MILLION PREVIEW DAY

The $200,000 American 1000 Guineas S. has attracted eight sophomore fillies, led by 5-2 morning-line choice Consequence. The Shug McGaughey blue-blood impressed in her debut as a juvenile and exits a solid third-place showing in the recent Beaumont S. (G2). Appalachian S. (G3) one-two finishers Afternoon Stroll and Hot Cha Cha, and unplaced Appalachian favorite Obsequious, will be in with a big chance as well.

The American 1000 Guineas S. (race 8 on Saturday) is the first leg of the $100,000 guaranteed All-Stakes Pick-4 wager. Post time is 5:26 ET.

FULL FIELD EXPECTED FOR WIDE OPEN MET MILE - MONDAY

The $600,000 Met Mile H. (G1) will be contested on Monday at Belmont Park in what appears to be one of the best betting races one could ever hope for. This talented and evenly-matched group has a bit of everything and seemingly any horse could cross the wire first. Among the stellar cast are multiple Grade 2 hero Smooth Air, recent Westchester H. (G3) winner Bribon, Churchill Downs H. (G2) top two finishers Accredit and My Pal Charlie, Grade 1 turf winner Mr. Sidney and the blazing three-year-old Mr. Fantasy.

Saturday's main attraction at Belmont is the $150,000 Sheepshead Bay S. (G2) over 11 furlongs on the green, followed by the $150,000 Vagrancy H. (G2) on Sunday for sprinting fillies and mares.
