Racing to the Triple Crown Begins in Earnest on Both Coasts

Pretenders and contenders will begin to sort themselves out as the racing to the Triple Crown gets under way on both coasts in January. The west coast Triple Crown trail heats up on January 16 at Santa Anita in the $100,000 San Rafael Stakes at one mile. Nearly 3,000 miles away, Florida-based 3-year-olds will compete in the $150,000 Holy Bull Stakes at one-mile at Gulfstream Park on January 23.
