HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. -- Jockey Javier Castellano was hospitalized Saturday with an injured right shoulder after being thrown from his mount during a race at Gulfstream Park.

Castellano was sent to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Fla., after falling from Presto Change O in the day's third race. His status for Sunday's Gulfstream card, in which he has seven scheduled mounts, was unknown.

Castellano's mount clipped another horse early in that race, knocking him from the saddle.

Another jockey, Julien Leparoux, was dropped by his mount, Polished, at the start of the same race. Leparoux was uninjured and rode three winners after his spill, including guiding Saratoga Sinner to victory in the Grade 3 Holy Bull Stakes.
